Scientific Anglers fly line backing is extremely thin, has a low coefficient of friction, high abrasion resistance, is colorfast and has high visibility. Fly line backing is what goes on your fly reel before the fly line itself. Usually 100 to 300 yards of backing is used, but check with your fly reel manufacturer for the rmended amount specific to your fly reel.
